Der linke Fuß steht vor dem Rucksack, das Bein ist leicht gebeugt. Dann zieht man nun den Rucksack mit Schwung nach oben zu sich hin und stellt ihn auf dem linken Knie ab. Den Tragegriff lässt man nun los. Danach greift man unter dem Schultergurt durch und weiter bis unter den Rucksackboden und wuchtet den Rucksack mit der rechten Hand mit Schwung auf den Rücken. Stattdessen benötigt es eine intensive Auseinandersetzung mit der geplanten Tour sowie Kenntnis seiner eigenen Fähigkeiten, Bedürfnissen und Erfahrungen. Warum das so ist? Man stelle sich vor man hat von allem das leichteste eingepackt, aber am Ende der Tour merkt man, dass die Hälfte des Mitgenommenen gar nicht benötigt wurde.
