The History Knife & Tool Commando Dagger black is a realization of the famous Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife, considered the mother of all modern combat knives. The knife was first used by Allied commandos such as the SOE, SAS and OSS. Over the course of World War II it was increasingly issued to regular troops and subsequently adopted by special forces of various nations. Today it is a symbolic element of the insignia of numerous airborne and special operations units.
In keeping with the historical original, this dagger features a narrow, double-edged, spear-point blade, an oval yet straight guard, the characteristic ribbed spindle-shaped aluminum handle with full tang, and complete blackening of all parts of the knife.
The dark brown leather sheath has a blackened and riveted chape, a belt loop fastened with two rivets and a 20 mm wide elastic strap to secure the handle, as well as two leather tabs for optionally sewing or attaching it into a uniform.
