The new version of the Bundeswehr combat knife with multifunctional application options. The most important additions to the previous models were the ability to cut barbed wire and saw wood or plastics. The new KM4000 model combines all these capabilities and can still be used as an offensive or defensive weapon. To break window glass, the KM4000 is equipped with a striking element protruding from the end of the handle. Handle made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic. To protect against corrosion, the blade is coated with black Kalgard. MOLLE and IdZ-adaptable Cordura/plastic sheath system. The knife is made of stainless Böhler steel 1.4110 with a hardness of HRC 51–53.
